Waiting

I'm waiting for the evening train,
I'm listening to the cuckoo clocks tick,
I'm reading the universe while I wait,
I'm humming quietly while I listen,
I'm averting monotony with new eyes,
I shall feel indebted to friends
who support,
I shall take lonesomeness as moderation time,
i will be open to holy God!
I'm anticipating life's
ultimate experience in peace!

A Father's Words

Don't bother with odes, my son.
Timetables are more precise.
.
Currents are changing! Unroll
the sea charts, watch it, don't sing.
.
The day will come when once more
lists will be nailed to the door.
.
And numbers stamped on the chest
of anyone who says NO!
.
Learn to be anonymous,
Learn more than I did: to shift
.
your identification,
your address, your physical appearance.
.
Encyclicals make good fires,
Manifestos are handy.
.
For wrapping up the butter
and salt given to victims.
.
It will take more than anger
it will take patience to force.
.
The lungs of authority
with the fire deadly powder.
.
Ground those with the know-how,
The precision in you, such as you.

Thank you Dad by Udiah (witness to Yah)

Dad,
A great many thanks for all you have done
Without you my life would not have begun
You have been there when I most needed you
You have helped to guide me my whole life through
We have shared both the good times and the bad
But most of all, thank you for being my dad
I love you
