Duckened Chessboard

The night falls,
Street lights blink their eyes,
At the stone table,
in the peoples' park,
Heads still hang low,
minds doing brain storming
as hands are ready for their next move.
Mosquitos hum in their ears,
Dinners are cold,
Wi-ves they ignored begin to scold
the sinking fears,
Please avoid yelling,
if the white queen snatches
a black pawn, without ringing the bell.

A Dog's Life

Our dog is a honest fellow,
He sleeps peacefully near Tom's cello,
What he eats is bite-size food,
When playing catch, he will be super good,
After we kill time in park,
hour after hour,
He will not disturb strangers or bark,
by jumping into a pond for his shower,
and if he itches too much, we scratch him like that,
he becomes calm when we pat his back,
at night he "wolf" stalkers away,
A dog is a nice friend to have for many a day.
